Perfume Review: Cool Water by Davidoff
fresh

Now that’s what I call Cool Water

My mother in law has a fabulous gardener who always gardens with his shirt off. It’s not a reflection of the weather. He’s obviously just seen a lot of episodes of Desperate Housewives and knows that a gardener is not necessarily just a gardener. Cool Water would be the ideal fragrance for him. It’s full-on, it’s obvious and it’s sexy.

Cool Water was created by Pierre Bourdon and released in 1988. Its huge success makes it seem at least ten years older. This fragrance is far from subtle, but is noteworthy for its commercial success and iconic status. Interestingly, Pierre Bourdon also (jointly) created Shiseido’s Féminité du Bois, another iconic fragrance, but at the niche end of the market.

Cool Water’s top notes are Lavender, Coriander, Peppermint, Rosemary and Orange Blossom. The middle notes are Jasmine, Oakmoss, Geranium and Sandalwood. The base notes are Amber, Musk, Sandalwood and Cedar.

A great fragrance to give your gardener for Christmas.
