Fragrance Girl

Cinnamon Sticks ~

Hello, hello!!

The weather man had us all freaked out yesterday. Winter weather advisory, don't ya know? Seriously? Already?? We aren't ready for this! We panicked and put new tires on the truck, filled the gas tank and stocked the fridge & pantry. Whew!! As we put away said groceries, the wind howled and howled. Yup, there is surely a big storm on the way! Drew made sure there was plenty of food out for the strays and that the shelters were ready. We even left the garage cracked so they could get out of the storm. We all snuggled in for -what seemed to be- a long winters nap. Woke up early this morning to feed our sickie (Nikita) and looked outside. Hello?!?! Not ONE flake of snow! I feel jipped!

So, here is what we did on our 'snow' day:

A couple weeks ago, I found these cinnamon sticks for about $5 at Costco. I just knew I would find something to do with them.

For months and months I have been saving baby food bottles from what we feed Nikita in dire circumstances. Today, I found a use for some of them!

Drew and I used a dremel to score the cinnamon sticks in random lengths, then we just snapped them off. Can you imagine the smell that came from these? Especially when we dremeled them, it was like baking cinnamon rolls! SLURP!!

Then, took my trusty glue gun and began gluing the pieces of cinnamon around the bottles.

Popped some flameless tealight candles in them and... WA-LAH!!

The sickie, our precious Nikita:

Don't ya just love snow days? :-) Going to look for some cute burlap ribbon to wrap around each of them.

Enjoy your weekend!!

XOXOXO
