A 300 year-old Grade II-listed property, in Oxon was snapped up for $230 million (£140m) by an unidentified buyer, making it the most expensive home sold. It includes about 200 acres of the parklands, listed monuments, house, cottages, stables and a boat house. The main house was once owned by Frederick, Prince of Wales and eldest son of George II and has the original huge stone fireplaces and stained glass windows.  What makes it quite appealing, though, is that it is also said to be haunted! Apparently the ghost of Mary Blandy, who was accused of poisoning her father in 1752, might be haunting the grounds. It has also appeared in a film, a remake of St. Trinians.
