After recently selling his 376-ft 'Pelorus' megayacht to Hollywood Mogul David Geffen for $300 million, Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich can finally revel in his new toy,the 536-ft 'Eclipse', the world's largest private yacht, the yacht was designed by Hermidas Atabeyki, while the interior represents the work of the well-known designer, Terrence Disdale.
Other highlights include a private yellow submarine, which can dive to 160ft below the water to escape in the event of an attack, a swimming pool with large Havana bars surrounding it, a cinema, library, restaurant, private garden and a 5,000 square feet master suite, to name but a few.
Now, the Eclipse is being offered up for hire at a rate of $2 million per week, JamesList revealed. The 538-ft. superyacht is available via ultra-exclusive brokerage SuperYachtsMonaco.
The yacht, which can house 30 guests and 75 crew, reportedly features a military-grade missile defense system, armor plating, bulletproof windows, three helipads, two swimming pools and a wellness center, among other luxe amenities. The yacht also comes fitted with an anti-paparazzi electronic shield, which will ensure privacy while on board.
All these should make the billionaire owner of the Chelsea Football Club feel like home and protected when on the yacht.
Although the ‘Eclipse’ cost nearly $800 million to build, Abramovich only paid around $485 million for it after negotiations. Although he got that bargain, it is estimated to cost the wealthy Russian $50 million a year in upkeep alone, with a trip to the fuel station costing$650,000 each time.
